Martin Guingona Lamb, the 20-year-old grandson of former Vice President Teofisto Guingona and nephew of Senator TG Guingona is dead after jumping off the 31st floor of Vivere Hotel in Filinvest, Alabang before dawn Thursday, October 17.
SPO2 Crescencio Manuel said Muntinlupa police found the crushed body of 20-year-old De La Salle University (DLSU) student on the ground after the incident at around 2:45 a.m.
Marc, the son of the former Vice President Teofisto Guingona's daughter, Marie Guingona Lamb, was seen coming from a drinking session with some friends at the hotel bar before jumping off the hotel.
Marie, who is on her way from Mindanao, said she was "brokenhearted" at the "accidental" death of her son.
"I am devastated and brokenhearted at the untimely and accidental death of my beloved Marc. As I am on my way back from Mindanao with my mother, Marc is surrounded by his father, grandfather, uncles, aunts and cousins... We are grateful for the outpouring of love, condolences and prayers from family and friends. We, Marc’s loving family, would appreciate to be allowed to grieve in private," she said, in a statement.
Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, meanwhile, asked for privacy for their family over the death of his nephew.
“I was informed that his death may have been brought about by personal concerns. We understand that Mark is young and may have been unable to bear burden of such concerns. In times like these, our family hopes that we can mourn, go through and process the pain of this tragic experience in private.” the Senator said.
