Anne Curtis Banned by GMA-7 to Perform at USTV Awards (Update)

Anne Curtis Banned by GMA-7 to Perform at USTV Awards (Update)

Anne Curtis posted several tweets last night, November 10, that put GMA-7 staff and artists in a bad light.

According to the Kapamilya actress, she was about to perform at the kick-off party of the annual USTV Awards of University of Sto. Tomas, when some of the GMA-7 staff prevented her from even stepping on the stage.

Before the incident happened, Anne even tweeted:

Text by Madlang Thomasians!!! I'm heeeerrre! Will be performing for you guys LIVE at the USTV Kickoff party!!"

Maloloka kayo as kakantihin ko. Dream ko ma-complete ang song na to LIVE and finally I'll do it tonight! Super nervous!!!!"

But right after several minutes, Anne, who are supposed to sing Adelle's "Someone Like You" posted a different story, saying:

Thomasians, I'm sorry I had to leave na. I tried to at least get up on stage and say hi kahit 2 minutes lang but GMA staff didn't want.

Thomasians, I was there on the left side of the stage & told them kahit d na ako kumanta babati Lang ng Hi and Hello but GMA Staff said no"

Anne likewise, requested her fans not to throw anger and hatred at Kapuso artists and management:

Wag kayo magalit sa GMA peeps.. And just to clear it....They didn't said bawal ako kumanta ever.. They just didn't want na mauuna ako sa Artists nila..

It's just sad that i was already about to get on stage, as in by the stairs na. Kasi nauna ako dun before the GMA Artists were there tapos pinigilan nila..

I tried to negotiate and say Hindi na Lang ako kakanta, Hi Lang.. But I guess Lang din sila cguro. Kaya deadma na. :)

think I explained it the best way that I can. Sorry again Thomasians! Hope you all know I really wanted to get up on stage & SING! Hahaha!

I really had to leave na kasi... Hope you all still appreciate the effort I made to go to the campus and I even prepared a song."

First time to sing it live and full song dapat! Haha. Oh well, maybe next year! It was nice seeing you guys kahit saglit!"

I guess what I learned from tonight is to humbly take a deep breath, give way and say BYE :)"

Anyway moving on. Off to rest my voice for my special guesting at Side A and Martin Nievera's concert at the Smart Araneta! Nervous!!!!"

However, personal witnesses who were there in the venue when the incident happened belied Anne's tweets, as reported by PEP. Read below:

Update
: Less than a day after her controversial tweets, Anne Curtis again posted several messages on her twitter account pertaining to, according to her, wrong accusations declared by an unidentified witnesses on the incident that happened during the USTV Awards kick-off party on November 10 at Plaza Mayor inside Univerity of Santo Tomas campus in España, Manila. Here is Anne's full tweets:

Read some articles & whoever the source was, got some details wrong. So I'd like to explain.

Firstly, if you read my twitter timeline I didn't arrive late at 8pm. I was asked by UST people to be there between 7-7:30 and they had told my Road Manager as soon as I get there it would be my turn..

If you want an exact time I was there at 7:10 according to driver. O diba? Join din ang driver ko sa drama. Haha.

No, but seriously, they told me naman since TV5 people were performing already they opted to put me after TV5 artists & before the GMA artists. So I waited in the the standby room and waited for them to call me.

Secondly, what I meant when I said nauna ako sa GMA Artists dun was that the USTv staff called me to go on stage coz it was my turn.

When I got backstage pababa na ung Artists of TV5 and I didn't see anyone from GMA except the lady representing GMA. She was the one I saw complaining to the USTv staff.

So to avoid it being a mess I told her that I won't sing na lang, babati na lang ako ng Hi and Hello. 2minutes lang. She DID NOT explain anything to me.

I didn't even quite get what she tried to say coz she said this while turning around me. So ang hirap intindihan kung d ka din sinabihan ng maayos diba?

But to clear it NOONE from the GMA staff explained anything to me as it was said in the article.

Lastly, I went to UST in good faith coz I was invited not to represent abs or be part of any network war but to go and perform for the Thomasians bilang it was through them I got my Best Actress award for Dyosa a couple of years back.

It was a way of saying thank you to them. Hindi para makipagagawan ng stage time or to compete with anyone.

The only reason why I tweeted last night was because pinalabas na ako ng USTv staff to perform so nakita na ako, mas nakakagulat if bigla naman ako nawala.

Its only proper I explain to them what the reason was why I left. I owe that to the Thomasians who tweeted & were waiting for me.

To clear it, I'm not dissing the network or the artists of GMA. As I said in my tweet don't get mad at the GMA staff they probably had their own reasons.

But if I was called by the staff of USTv and was already at the side of stage waiting to be called maybe they/she could've taken that into consideration also."

Sarah Lahbati Gets Lead Role in GMA-7′s ‘Kokak’

Sarah Lahbati Gets Lead Role in GMA-7′s ‘Kokak’

A discovery of GMA-7′s reality artista search, Starstruck, Sarah Lahbati transforms into a lead star in the TV adaptation of Ruben Marcelino’s comic series, “Kokak”.

Beginning November 14, Sarah’s beauty graces GMA-7′s Afternoon Prime block in her first starring role as Kara, a woman who becomes a frog when her feet get wet at night and goes back to being human when morning comes.

Despite such curse, Kara captivates two men portrayed by princely Kapuso actors, TJ Trinidad and JC Tiuseco. Carl (TJ) is the first male that Kara sees and falls in love with while Roco (JC) is a small-time crook who later becomes a martyr for the young woman’s love.

The story of “Kokak” begins with the love of Kara’s parents, Renato (Gary Estrada) and Angela (Jessa Zaragoza). Although they are about to have their baby, Renato’s ex-girlfriend, Vicky (Angelika Dela Cruz), cannot accept that she has lost the man she loves to someone else. Thus, she commits suicide.

Veronica (Deborah Sun) and Carlito, Vicky’s mother and brother, are devastated by her unexpected death. Thus, when she discovers the reason behind Vicky’s suicide, Veronica decides to avenge her daughter. Coming from a family of witches, Veronica curses Renato and makes him lose his sanity. She also uses a hex on the pregnant Angela and leaves her in a pond full of frogs.

After the incident, Angela has not seen Renato again and she thinks that he has purposely left her. With her Tya Berta (Ms. Caridad Sanchez), she decides to continue her pregnancy and raise her child all by herself.

Soon, Angela gives birth to a beautiful baby girl and names her Kara. The baby seems normal until Angela bathes her and realizes that Veronica’s curse transforms her into a frog! When the whole town hears about Angela’s monstrous baby, she and Tya Berta leave to reside in the middle of a secluded forest. There, Kara’s secret is hidden and safe from judgmental people.

Kara grows up not seeing any other people than her mom and Tya Berta. She is also unaware that there are male human beings. Angela forbids Kara to leave the forest and tells her that there are dangerous monsters outside.

Although contented with her mom’s love, Kara feels that there is more to the world than just the forest. One day, she decides to defy her mother’s instructions, goes to the border of the forest and finds Carl, the first man she has ever seen. Despite her fears, Kara approaches Carl to help him because he is badly wounded. Meanwhile, Carl perceives Kara as a beautiful forest goddess who helps him.

After helping Carl, Kara returns home happily because of her discovery. She has fallen in love with the wounded man and she hopes to see him again. However, when Kara goes back to the edge of the forest, some townsmen see her and lust over her. They chase Kara until her feet get wet and she transforms into a frog.

Soon, the townsmen discover Kara’s house in the middle of the forest and set it on fire. She, her mom and Tya Berta try to flee but they get separated in the process. Kara then accidentally rides a bus and goes to Manila for the first time. There, she meets the siblings Roco and Rafa (Frencheska Farr) and becomes friends with them.

Will Kara survive now that she is out in the world for the first time? Will she be reunited with her mother? What if fate surprisingly brings Carl and Kara’s path’s together? Will Carl still accept her if he discovers that she is the daughter of the man who hurt his dear sister, Vicky?

Join Kara as she fights her curse and the conflicts brought about by her parents’ past and unveil an unusual beauty that springs from a brave heart.

“Kokak” also stars Vaness Del Moral as Elizabeth, Carl’s girlfriend, and Ervic Vijandre as Borge, Carl’s best friend.

JM De Guzman Topbills ‘Angelito Batang Ama’

JM De Guzman Topbills ‘Angelito Batang Ama’

Dramatic young actor JM De Guzman formally joins the roster of sought after Kapamilya leading men as he topbills ABS-CBN’s newest afternoon drama “Angelito: Batang Ama” premiering this Monday, November 14, in Kapamilya Gold.

JM takes on his biggest role to date as young dad Angelito who will face the responsibilities and challenges of parenthood at an early age.

What’s new and interesting about this show is that the perspective of the young father will be shown to the audience. Usually, the struggles of a young mother are being featured on programs or films so now it’s time for the viewers to open their minds and see the other side of this social issue,” said JM.

Joining JM in the cast of “Angelito: Batang Ama” are Charee Pineda, Kaye Abad, Tom Rodriguez, Ina Feleo, Matt Evans, Felix Roco, Sam Concepcion, Devon Seron, Jason Francisco, Carl John Barrameda, Kyra Custodio, Bianca Casado, Sue Anna Ramirez, Eliza Pineda, Mariel Pamintuan, Lemuel Pelayo, Benj de Guzman, Eslove Briones, Maichel Flores, Joshen Bernardo, and Bea Basa. Veteran actors Ms. Elizabeth Oropesa, Al Tantay, and Ms. Snooky Serna also return to television via this soap.

First seen as Mike in “PHR presents Midnight Phantom,” JM was instantly given follow up projects such as “PHR presents Alyna” and “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine” with his undeniable and simply noticeable acting prowess.

His name further created a mark when he was among the cast members of the hit romantic-comedy”My Amnesia Girl” starring John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga. The name JM De Guzman was catapulted to big screen stardom when Cinemalaya movie ”Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank,” where he portrayed lead, raked earnings at the box office and is now vying for a spot to be an official Oscar nominee.

Some may think JM’s rise to fame is quite fast compared to others but for the dramatic actor, it’s just about time that he gets this big break.

I’ve been preparing myself to take on big projects like ’Angelito: Batang Ama.’ I stopped showbiz when I was young to study Theater Arts in the University of the Philippines where I learned more about the craft that I love. That is why I can say I am ready and I am equipped to face lead roles,” explained JM who used to be one of the ”Ang TV” kids.

Aside from acting on television, JM is also known as a theater actor and just recently, he was formally launched as a recording artist after releasing his self-titled album.

Don’t miss the premiere of “Angelito Batang Ama” this Monday (Nov 14), 3:30 PM after “Helena’s Promise” on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold. Every Step Counts in Delightful Sequel “Happy Feet 2”

In 2006, a movie came along that not only delighted audiences, but had them tapping their toes and singing heartsongs. “Happy Feet” was an unqualified global hit that appealed to critics and audiences of all ages. The film went on to earn numerous awards, culminating in the Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature.

It also fueled greater efforts for environmental and wildlife conservation and even entered the modern lexicon, with “happy feet” becoming a synonym for tap dancing, its star Mumble’s particular talent.

Director George Miller explains, “I often say that these stories are for the adult in the child and the child in the adult. I think one of the reasons why ‘Happy Feet’ resonated is that it had a kind of nourishment to it, with the time-honored ideas of being true to yourself, being brave and trying to treat the world and yourself with respect.”

The idea for the story of the sequel “Happy Feet 2” actually began even as Miller and his team were putting the finishing touches on the first film. “When you work on a film like that for so long, you actually fall in love with the characters. As you're thinking about them, new stories arise, which is what led to ‘Happy Feet 2.’ It was surprisingly easy to go back there, and so much fun hanging out with them once again.”

But Miller, who directed, produced, and also co-wrote the film with writers Gary Eck, Warren Coleman and Paul Livingston, aimed to do much more than simply return to Antarctica with Mumble, Gloria and the other penguins. He explains, “I think what a storyteller wants from every film is to have the audience somehow experience something that they can relate to, so that they can see their own lives through it. I think this new film - which is about family and community - gives them the opportunity to be able to do that through the characters of the penguins.

In the new film, Miller wanted to imbue even more physical comedy and action, while staying true to the spirit of the first movie. “‘Happy Feet 2’ has all the singing and dancing and beautiful Antarctic landscape, but there are new characters of every dimension, from the largest scale to very tiny creatures,” he says. In fact, the tiniest of the film’s creatures are voiced by two of today’s biggest stars: Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as Will and Bill The Krill.

As the story opens, the vocally challenged but choreographically gifted Mumble, once again voiced by Elijah Wood, and the golden-throated Gloria, voiced by Alecia Moore (P!nk), are parents. Mumble’s own difficult adolescence, however, did not prepare him to be the ideal dad. His son is a fluffy fledgling named Erik, who seems disinterested in dancing, while the rest of the Emperor nation is movin’ and groovin’. But when Mumble encourages him to try tripping the light fantastic, Erik simply trips over his own feet… landing him head first in the snow and the object of derision. Erik hides in shame, and Mumble’s attempts to reassure his self-doubting son only make matters worse.

George Miller observes, “Mumble is now a parent, and the tables have turned on him. Now he has the problem of being a father with a child who doesn't completely conform to the way Mumble thinks his son should be! And he truly wants to connect with his son. We all think when we become parents that somehow, we’ll know how to do better than our parents did. And, of course, we often make the same mistakes, because there’s no real instruction manual about how to be a good parent. And that’s what I speculated in the story would happen with Mumble.”

But the filmmakers ratcheted up the stakes: Mumble not only has to find his way through fatherhood, he ultimately must find a way to save the entire Emperor community, pitting penguin against nature. Violent shifts in the glacial landscape are threatening the Emperors’ very survival, and it falls to Mumble to rally creatures both great and small, to save them.

Opening across the Philippines in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular theaters, “Happy Feet 2” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Christmas is almost here! Many of us have already started shopping, wrapping gifts, and planning get-togethers.

Holidays are made brighter whenever we receive presents that touch our hearts and make us feel special. But this year, instead of getting gifts, why not try giving and sharing? This is the perfect time to celebrate the reason for the season with those who need some Christmas cheer.

On The 700 Club Asia, we’ve got stories of givers whose generosity were blessed in return - more than they could imagine! And we will show how you, like them, can make the best offering and live out the true Christmas spirit.

Like clothing brand Tomato, whose owner Jon Dionisio, is a partner of CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm Operation Blessing (OB) Philippines. Giving to OB led Dionisio to experience an outpouring of blessings as well. His daughter Soleigh, who had been suffering from renal reflux, got healed and totally recovered from her illness. And the blessings didn’t stop there. From nine branches, Tomato expanded and was able to put up 17 branches before the previous year ended.

GMA Network Posts P3.4-B Consolidated Gross Revenues in Q3

GMA Network Posts P3.4-B Consolidated Gross Revenues in Q3

The Kapuso Network continues aggressive national and international expansion efforts.

Cognizant of its corporate objective to further solidify its nationwide ratings leadership and presence in key Filipino international markets, GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) continues to firm up its aggressive local and global expansion efforts this 2011.

GMA pulled sound business performance to back the expansion, increasing consolidated gross revenues by two percent or P72.4 million to P3.384 billion this third quarter from P3.311 billion made during the same period in 2010. This is despite a relatively weaker market vis-à-vis third quarter of last year.

For the nine-month period, GMA’s consolidated top line recorded an increase of 15 percent or P1.287 billion to P10.109 billion, minus the impact of 2010′s political advertisements worth P2.054 billion in 2010. In fact, the industry’s top 30 advertisers grew their advertising accounts with the Company by 36 percent or over one third from last year for the period January to September.

Airtime revenues from television and radio contributed the bulk of revenues worth P9.253 billion, up 16 percent from last year’s top line made of regular advertising load.

GMA’s top performing business unit and the Philippines’ most watched television station GMA Channel 7 grew its regular advertising revenues by 19 percent or P1.376 billion to P8.665 billion; while Radio’s recurring ad revenues grew by seven percent or P18.9 million to P306.7 million.

GMA Regional TV (RTV) provided an unprecedented revenue growth driven mostly by strong local sales. In all, RTV increased its revenues from recurring national and local advertising by almost half to P117.7 million.

Meanwhile, GMA International posted a modest three percent growth in revenues to P718.9 million by end of the nine-month period owing to the appreciation of the peso against the dollar. In dollar terms, however, revenues from international operations improved by six percent year-on-year.

GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon looks forward to better prospects for 2012 after heavy investments made this 2011. “I am positive that the Company has a better outlook going forward. GMA delivered fairly good business performance amid a non-election year,” Gozon said.

Operating expenses (OPEX) for the said financial period amounted to P6.530 billion, up by six percent from last year’s P6.181 billion.

A huge chunk of the Company’s OPEX was devoted to the continuing pursuit to deliver superior programming with the airing of the pioneering epic-serye on Philippine television, the top-rating mega production – Amaya. Likewise, part of the amount backed International’s subscriber generation efforts that hooked around two million and one million global viewers for flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV (GPTV) and lifestyle channel GMA Life TV (GLTV), respectively.

Both channels continue to penetrate new markets in key Filipino hubs abroad via a number of channel carriers – in Australia via FetchTV; in Hawaii via Hawaiian Telecom; in Central Florida via Brighthouse; in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Michigan, and Seattle via Comcast; and in North and South Carolina, Upstate New York, and Massachusetts via Time Warner. GPTV also launched in Papua New Guinea via Tolec Electronics and in Sacramento via SureWest Broadband, while GLTV is now seen in Houston via Comcast.

Meanwhile, the international edition of the Philippines’ number one news channel GMA News TV (GNTV) can now be seen via Fetch TV (Australia), GTA TeleGuam, IPS Japan, and UBI World TV Australia and New Zealand.

GMA International likewise initiated the launch of flagship radio stations DZBB (AM band) and DWLS (FM band) in Fetch TV (Australia), Hawaiian Telecom, and Time Warner North and South Carolina and North East Region this third quarter.

The Network, thru its syndication and acquisition arm GMA Worldwide, Inc. (GWI), generated USD377,000 through sale of locally produced films/programs this third quarter in Hawaii, China, Taiwan, Tanzania, Malaysia, Brunei, and Kenya. For the nine-month period, GWI hit USD781,000, or 85 percent of its total sales target this 2011.

Likewise, the Network continues to allot multi-million worth of investments to fortify its equipment and infrastructure in key regions in the country. Its signal, which arguably has the widest reach among the country’s free-to-air channels, can cover approximately 95.7 percent of national urban television households.

GMA’s originating stations in Dagupan, Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao, as well as its satellite stations in Naga, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, and General Santos, contribute positively to the Company’s top line. This is due to RTV’s high rating local programs, its strong partnerships with local and national advertisers, and an aggressive promotional blitz which further grew the Network’s viewership nationwide and established its leadership in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) ratings.

Online, the Network has successfully established GMA News Online (www.gmanews.tv) as the number one local news website visited by Internet users in the Philippines. This is according to data of Effective Measure, the Australian company recently named by leading Philippine online publishers as the official third-party audience measurement provider.

As part of the network’s corporate strategy to diversify its revenue-generation streams, GMA New Media, Inc. (NMI), the Network’s digital arm, sets the incorporation of Gamespan in its online operations. The launch of this online gaming in the fourth quarter of 2011 is in joint venture with Manila Jockey Club, Inc. (MJCI).

In line with its diversification strategy, NMI recently spun off one of its production units to form “Digify,” a technocreative lab that seeks to complement the brand-building capabilities of traditional agencies and add value to their business. The recently formed unit will provide end-to-end solutions for standalone and integrated digital campaigns. NMI’s Technocreative Unit, through years of exposure in both traditional and emerging media, has developed an expertise in digital branding, digital communications, multimedia content production and convergent end-to-end media solutions.

GMA’s official web portal, www.gmanetwork.com, will soon be launched this balance 2011. The portal will allow users to get quick and easy access to all Network properties and subsidiaries, such as Entertainment, News, International, Kapuso Foundation, Records, Film, Radio, Artist Center, and Investor Relations.

Owing to the aggressive expansion projects, the Company finished the first nine months with earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of P2.717 billion, and net income after taxes worth P1.580 billion.

On television, the broadcast giant reinforced its leadership in nationwide ratings this partial November, according to data of the industry’s most widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

In fact, GMA was the only television station that showed a steady increase in nationwide audience share from September till partial November. In contrast, competitors ABS-CBN’s and TV5′s audience shares were on the downtrend for the said period.

Based on partial November data (November 1 to 7 based on overnight readings) nationwide, GMA posted an average of 36.8 total day (6am-12mn) household audience share points, or an impressive 8.5-point lead over ABS-CBN’s 28.3; and a whopping 20.9-point margin over TV5′s 15.9 points.

Using the assumption that there are five viewers per household, GMA’s lead would mean that it had about 1.6 million more viewers from all over the country than ABS-CBN; and almost four million more viewers than TV5 in partial November.

GMA’s strong win nationwide was most pronounced in the afternoon block, where it posted a double-digit advantage over its competitors this partial November. GMA likewise posted double-digit advantage in the morning block for the said period.

Similarly, in the viewer-rich areas of Urban Luzon (which comprises 77% of total television households nationwide) and Mega Manila (which comprises 58% of total television households nationwide), GMA registered impressive ratings performance from daytime till primetime in partial November.

In Urban Luzon, GMA finished the said month with 40.6 share points, dominating ABS-CBN’s 24 points and TV5′s 16.6 points.

GMA’s lead over ABS-CBN translates to almost 2.5 million more viewers. Over TV5, GMA had about 3.6 million more viewers.

In Mega Manila, GMA posted its highest margins in total day household audience share points with 41.3 as against ABS-CBN’s 22.4 points and TV5′s 17.5.

In this Kapuso-bailiwick, GMA had almost 2.2 million more viewers than ABS-CBN; and over 2.7 million more viewers than TV5.

The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is also used by 21 companies including two other local networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.

In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 800 homes as compared to Kantar Media’s 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.

Anne Curtis Banned by GMA-7 to Perform at USTV Awards

And likewise, requested her fans not to throw anger and hatred at Kapuso artists and management:

Wag kayo magalit sa GMA peeps.. And just to clear it....They didn't said bawal ako kumanta ever.. They just didn't want na mauuna ako sa Artists nila..

It's just sad that i was already about to get on stage, as in by the stairs na. Kasi nauna ako dun before the GMA Artists were there tapos pinigilan nila..

I tried to negotiate and say Hindi na Lang ako kakanta, Hi Lang.. But I guess Lang din sila cguro. Kaya deadma na. :)"

think I explained it the best way that I can.

Read below:

Ashton Kutcher Apologizes For Joe Paterno Tweet, Decides to Quit Twitter

Ashton Kutcher Apologizes For Joe Paterno Tweet, Decides to Quit Twitter

A humbled Ashton Kutcher apologized on his personal blog for his controversial Joe Paterno tweet, and announced that he will no longer be running his Twitter account.

While Kutcher will still make statements through his account, The "Two and a Half Men" star is handing over management to Katalyst Media "to ensure the quality of it's (sp) content."

On November 9, Kutcher tweeted "How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste." from his @aplusk account. Almost immediately, he was inundated by a firestorm of angry replies. He later deleted the tweet and apologized, but since the comment had been retweeted so many times, the damage had been done.

Kutcher explained on his blog that he read a headline on TV that Paterno had been fired, and tweeted without knowing the context. He didn't become aware of the circumstances surrounding the Penn State former head coach's dismissal and the Jerry Sandusky child molestation case until after he had dinner.

"I quickly retracted and deleted my previous post, however that didn't seem enough to satisfy peoples outrage at my misinformed post. I truly am sorry if I offended anyone and more over am going to take action to ensure that it doesn't happen again," he wrote.

Early on November 10, the actor self-imposed a tweeting ban. "As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case. As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again." he wrote in a series of tweets.

Besides a link to his official statement, nothing new has been posted to his account. It's quite unusual for the actor, who is well-known for being active on the social network. The Guardian reported he had previously threatened to quit Twitter over news that the website planned to launch a TV show in 2007, but he never went through with his claims. However, it seems that in light of the Paterno comment, there will be fewer tweets coming from Kutcher's account.

"A collection of over 8 million followers is not to be taken for granted. I feel responsible for delivering an informed opinion and not spreading gossip or rumors through my twitter feed," he wrote in his statement.

"While I feel that running this feed myself gives me a closer relationship to my friends and fans I've come to realize that it has grown into more that a fun tool to communicate with people.... My sincere apologies to anyone who I have offended. It was a mistake that I don't think will not happen again," he added.
